The Smooth Rock is a unique item. Only one exists naturally in the game. It creates dry environments and is required for Onix’s habitat.
Where to Find the Smooth Rock
The Smooth Rock is in the cave where Onix is trapped in Withered Wasteland.
- Stand with your back to the Withered Wasteland Pokemon Center
- Turn right and break through the rock wall with Rock Smash
- Enter the cave on your right
- Find the large gate inside
- Turn to face the wall opposite Onix
- Break the rock with water dripping from it
- Look left at the end of the cavern
- Open the yellow Poke Ball next to the Glow Mushroom

How to Use the Smooth Rock
Create Onix’s Habitat
Onix needs a Smooth Tall Grass habitat. Place the Smooth Rock next to 4 patches of dry grass.
Dry Out Areas
The Smooth Rock reduces humidity in a 6x6 tile area around it. Place it to dry watered areas or create dry environments for Pokemon that prefer them.
