The Team Initiation Challenge begins in Withered Wasteland after Professor Tangrowth leads you to the sand-covered lighthouse on the beach. Eight challenges await, each requiring specific item donations in exchange for badges that advance the story.

Early Challenges: Foraging and Farming

Basic Foraging

Required: 5 Leppa Berries | Reward: Bouldery Badge

Headbutt trees throughout Withered Wasteland by pressing A near them. Leppa Berries drop frequently from these trees. Collect five and return to the tower on the beach to submit them at the donation box.

Early Farming

Required: 10 Beans, 10 Tomatoes, 10 Wheat | Reward: Cascade Badge

Unlock basic farming in Withered Wasteland first. Purchase seeds and plant them in tilled soil plots. Water your crops daily using a Pokemon with Water Gun, such as Slowpoke. Harvest each crop type when ready and deliver them to the tower.

Wood and Soft Materials

Required: 20 Lumber, 5 Fluff, 10 Paper | Reward: Forest Badge

Befriend Grass or Wood Pokemon and use their chopping moves on trees to gather lumber. Shear fluffy Pokemon like Wooloo near homes to collect fluff. Paper can be found as wastepaper in ruins or recycled from junk at abandoned structures.

Mid-Game Challenges: Building and Technology

Building Materials

Required: 40 Bricks, 20 Gold Ingots, 50 Concrete | Reward: Rainbowish Badge

This challenge opens after you unlock Rocky Ridges. Mine clay and stone, then process them at kilns and workbenches. Use Burn moves on solid clay to produce bricks. Gold ore appears in rocky mountains and must be smelted at the forge. Concrete requires mixing processed stone and sand at an advanced workbench.

Tech and Energy Components

Required: 50 Electricity, 10 Crystal Fragments, 5 Tinkagears | Reward: Boulder Badge

Befriend Electric Pokemon like Magnemite. Use Thunder Shock and Discharge at generators and power spots to produce electricity. Build generators in your habitats for passive power generation.

Mine crystals in sparkling caves at Sparkling Skylands. Rock Pokemon can break crystal deposits more efficiently. Craft Tinkagears at the Tinkmaster workbench using iron ingots and Mechanic Pokemon.

Advanced Furniture Crafting

Required: 4 Industrial Beds, 4 Office Desks, 4 Resort Lights | Reward: Comfort Badge

Craft all items at the advanced workbench. Industrial Beds require lumber, fluff, and metal frames. Office Desks need wood, metal, and crafted parts. Resort Lights call for electronics, crystals, and glass.

Final Challenges: Tech and Celebration

Household Appliances

Required: 1 Washing Machine, 1 Refrigerator, 1 Game Boy System | Reward: Tech Badge

Both the washing machine and refrigerator require metal ingots, electricity components, and pipes. Craft them at your workbench once you have the materials.

The Game Boy System cannot be crafted. Reach Environment Level 5 at Sparkling Skylands to receive it as a reward from the PC outside the local Pokemon Center.

Final Celebration

Required: 1 Photo, 2 Party Poppers | Reward: Final Badge

Use the in-game camera to photograph your completed habitat with a group of befriended Pokemon present. Craft Party Poppers from paper, fluff, and small explosives.

Submitting these items with a high enough Environment Level triggers the final story cutscene.
